The Ultra Marine anchor has several patented features and a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Its polished stainless steel construction instantly stands out, but also offers a technical advantage unmatched by other materials. The point is hollow and filled with molten lead, concentrating the weight exactly where needed and helping to secure the anchor to even unfavorable bottoms. This design feature is incompatible with the hot-dip galvanizing process. The shank or arm of the anchor is also hollow, giving it buoyancy and ensuring that the Ultra Marine anchor is in a righted, "striking" position when it reaches the bottom. The angled arm design provides exceptional strength/resistance, but also ensures that the anchor is unstable when lying on its back (should it fall in that position), forcing it to instantly recover to the correct position.
