Plastimo SX-350+ handheld VHF radio

The Plastimo SX-350+ is a portable, floating, and waterproof handheld VHF radio designed for coastal navigation, tenders, and recreational use. It is optimized for Europe, although it also meets the regulatory requirements for use in the United States and Canada.

It is a device aimed at users who need an easy-to-use portable transmitter with good battery life and practical functions in real navigation situations. Its floating design with a flashing light facilitates recovery in case it falls into the water, while the audible alarm when submerged helps to locate it quickly.

It operates in the frequency range of 156 to 163.425 MHz and offers an output power of 5 W, sufficient for short and medium-range communication in recreational navigation. It incorporates a 1750 mAh lithium-ion battery, with an autonomy of up to 12 hours under an estimated duty cycle of 5% transmission / 5% reception / 90% standby.

It includes Dual Watch and Tri Watch functions, direct access to channel 16, favorite channel programming, and ATIS mode for inland waterway navigation. It also features weather information reception, a function available only in the USA.

To enhance its use in the marine environment, it incorporates an automatic speaker water drainage system, which activates when the radio is removed from the water. Recharging is done via USB, with 12 V and 220 V adapters provided. The equipment also integrates a flashlight, a large backlit LCD screen, and illuminated buttons.
